Teaching

View my collection of teaching materials below. Hover the box / image to see more detail.

Short Epi / Biostat tweets

I made this collection of tweets a long time ago, after I returned from Johns Hopkins. The tweets are short, digestible content on various fundamental topics in epidemiology and biostatistics, which are essential for any practitioner in quantitative health research.

Python tutorials

This is a collection of Vietnamese tutorials on Python programming language. It covers basic programming concepts and the most commonly used libraries in data science, such as Pandas and Matplotlib. There is actually a video collection, but I will remake it.

Excel tutorials

This is a collection of Vietnamese tutorials on Microsoft Excel. I assumed that you already know the basics of Excel. In these tutorials, I cover some commonly used functions (SUM, IF), Table, lookup functions, and other advanced features such as Pivot Table and Power Query.

R tutorials

I really wanted to make a collection of R tutorials similar to the Python ones, but I haven't had the time yet. These R tutorials are random intermediate topics and may not be suitable for beginners.

Word tutorials

Although I have completed the materials, I haven't had the time to record all the videos yet. These tutorials cover somewhat advanced features of Microsoft Word, including styles, paragraph formatting, and advanced replace.

Sharing knowledge

I have a list of Facebook posts on my KonTrymNon page and some other sources of information that I find useful. I have compiled them into a collection of knowledge sharing posts, which I hope will be helpful to you.

BMR classes

First lecture of BMR.101

I have some private courses called BMR (abbreviated for Biomedical Research). These courses help you become familiar with epidemiologic designs and statistical analysis. After the class, you will be able to understand important concepts, avoid and detect common mistakes in study design, and properly interpret findings from quantitative analyses.

KonTrymNon

Lectures on P-value on KTN

You can also visit the Youtube channel KonTrymNon (KTN, abbreviated for Knowledge and Technology for Newbies) and the Facebook page KonTrymNon to view the lectures and watch videos (in Vietnamese) about study design, Excel, and programming.

REACH

Research ethics 101 on REACH

Research Advancement Consortium in Health is a project led by Phạm Thanh Tùng and Bùi Phương Linh (PhD graduates at Harvard). REACH provides online courses on biomedical research, on-site training courses, and micro-grants for research projects. I have given a course in REACH.

Thằn Lằn Con

Study material of the ME class

I used to teach Medical English (ME) at Thằn Lằn Con English Center. The ME class focused on learning methods to memorize medical vocabulary and to present clinical information. I also integrated some basic grammar and skills in the class. I have shared the study material for this class, written by myself.
